| Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD4P Motherboard Review |
| --- Thu, 2 July 2009 |
| There's a lot included to entice the enthusiast crowd, from the PCB design to the robust overclocking options, and the UD4P's performance numbers put the board towards the front of the class. Several subtleties help flesh out the package, like onboard power/reset/clear CMOS buttons, right-angled SATA ports, and a boatload of power saving features. Factor in tri-SLI and three-way CrossFireX support and you'd be hard pressed to find a more rounded X58 motherboard in this price range. Our price $350. More info: hardwarelogic... |

| HIS Radeon HD 4770 Video Card Review |
| --- Wed, 10 June 2009 |
| The HIS HD 4770 card doesn't act like a $100 video card. We played all our test games at average settings and weren't disappointed. Only within Crysis did we get lag which was easily dealt with by turning the resolution down from its 1600x1200 setting. Image quality was excellent and showed off that the HD 4770 has what it takes. The ability to run two of these cards in Crossfire really makes folks on a budget have options to play games at festive levels now but upgrade later for tomorrow. Our price $175. | Noctua NH-U12P SE1366 i7 CPU Cooler |
| --- Thu, 28 May 2009 |
| Color me impressed. Here we have a very well made and put together package that has no problems bringing the noise when it comes to the world of performance. Out of the I7 heatsinks that I've tested thus far, this is easily the most positive experience, bar the fact that the wire clips are tough to engage inside a case, and caught on the roof fans of my CoolerMaster 690. What really impresses me though is that despite its simple design and light mass, this heatsink still managed to outstrip all comers, and do so in silent style. Our price $100. | AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition CPU Review |
| --- Wed, 6 May 2009 |
| The Phenom II X4 955 BE offers more overall value, and by that I mean it's not quite as fast as the Intel Core i7 920 but costs a significant amount less. It is compatible with new socket AM3 motherboards, and backwards compatible with existing AMD Socket
AM2+ motherboards (and potentially some Socket AM2 motherboards as well). Depending on the motherboard users choose to install a Phenom II X4 into, the processor can be used with either DDR2 or DDR3 memory. This makes the Phenom II X4 955 BE a very easy upgrade for AMD users looking for quick speed boost, and keeps the overall cost of building a Phenom II X4-based PC down considerably. Our price $410 More info: pcstats... |
